"Bed Series: a bundle of artwork" was created to depict the intense erotic relationship between two women. Composed in 1892, "In Bed: The Kiss" goes beyond the surface to expose these women's vulnerable connection. Toulouse-Lautrec gained a heightened awareness of the real-world issues between the upper and lower class. As a result, he developed a hatred of the aristocrats and a yearning to expose the vulnerable humanistic side of the lower-class.
